I just finished fixing some problems with the server. What was happening was every time the server would go to change the map, crash, then restart to ctf_2fort. This happened both from the SourceMod admin menu, as well as running an rcon command to change the server’s map.
The first place I checked was SourceMod, since that’s usually the thing to break after an update. I downloaded the newest snapshot and uploaded it to the server. Unfortunately, this didn’t work. I then spent the next hour reinstalling SourceMod and MetaMod, only to still have it not work. The SourceMod admin menu was working, however map changes still weren’t.
After scouring the server’s console log, and not finding anything apparent, I saw something off. In the area of the log that shows the replay diagnostic, I noticed that it said replays were turned off due to an error. After looking into it, I realized that when I made this site that I deleted the replay folder hosted on this server in order to easily install WordPress. The weird part is the fact that everything was fine on Tuesday when we played. For whatever reason, it chose today to make that an issue. It’s most likely due to an update. Now the replay folder has been recreated, and the server appears to not be having any issues anymore.
Weird how one little, unimportant folder being missing can cause such huge issues.
